The Western Australian Government has launched a new travel grant scheme aimed at local health and medical life science companies.

The Market Access Grant Scheme (MAGS) provides grants of up to $5,000 (on a co-contribution basis) to eligible Western Australian companies in the sector to travel to major industry conferences or business events.

Funding can be used to cover costs such as event registration and exhibition booths, airfares, visas and travel insurance.

The scheme will assist eligible companies to advance their businesses and products, help facilitate the formation of new business relationships, and showcase local industry talent through attendance at interstate and international conferences and events.

The grants are funded through the State Government’s $8.65 million budget commitment to implementing the Health and Medical Life Sciences Industry Strategy, with a total of $100,000 committed to the inaugural round of MAGS.

Applications are now open and will run until available funds are expended.
