Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Pingelly on Saturday 14 February 2026.

About 6.55pm, a silver Kia Optima sedan was travelling on the Wickepin-Pingelly Road when near Smith Street, the Kia left the road and hit a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, an 18-year-old male, sustained critical injuries in the crash and died at the scene.

Major Crash investigators are conducting an examination of the scene and are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash, to contact Crime Stoppers online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000.
