The 3-day SkillsWest Careers and Employment Expo at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre provided an opportunity for agencies to engage directly with students, graduates, job seekers and professionals interested in building meaningful careers in the public sector.

Representatives from the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions; Office of Digital Government; Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage; Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety; and the Public Sector Commission staffed the booth, highlighting the wide range of career pathways available throughout the sector.

Attendees included Year 9 and 10 students, educators, school leavers, tertiary students, graduates, professionals, community liaison officers, people new to Western Australia and individuals returning to the workforce or changing careers.

Staff highlighted opportunities such as entry pathways into the sector, including graduate programs, cadetships and vacation employment opportunities, and directed attendees to resources that support career planning and job applications.
