Detectives from the Financial Crimes Squad have charged a 40-year-old man with alleged public sector corruption as part of an ongoing cooperative investigation being conducted by WA Police and the Corruption and Crime Commission.

The investigation involves allegations of corrupt conduct by a person employed by the Shire of East Pilbara between October 2021 and December 2023.

The 40-year-old man was charged with:
• Eight counts of Public Officer Acts Corruptly in Performance/Discharge of Functions

He appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court on 26 October 2026 and was remanded to next appear on 10 February 2027.
