Cannington Police have charged a man following an investigation into an alleged road rage incident which occurred in Welshpool on Monday, 10 November 2025.

It will be alleged, about 9.00am, a silver Toyota Corolla sedan was travelling on Roe Highway, in Wattle Grove, when it was tailgated by a silver Ford Focus hatchback.

When both vehicles were stopped at the Roe Highway off-ramp, police will allege the occupants of the Ford Focus approached the victim’s vehicle and smashed multiple windows with a pole, before assaulting the victim.

A 31-year-old man from Ascot was arrested and has been charged with the following offences;
• 1x Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property
• 1x Being armed in a way that may cause fear
• 1x Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm

He is due to appear before court at a later date. A second person was assisting police with their inquiries but has since been released pending further investigations.
