Armadale Detectives are investigating a serious assault that occurred in Byford on 12 February 2026.
About 9.00pm, police received a report of a disturbance involving several people outside a fast-food restaurant on Abernethy Road. During the incident, it will be alleged a man was assaulted, lost
consciousness and fell to the ground, striking his head on the pavement.
Emergency services, including St John WA, attended the scene and provided medical treatment to a 28-year-old male who was later conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
As a result of inquiries, police located and arrested a 19-year-old man at an address in Byford a short time later where he was taken into custody.
He has since been charged with one count of ‘Grievous Bodily Harm’. His bail has been refused, and he is next due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court on Friday 13 February 2026.
