Services During the COVID-19 Lockdown

Media release
The Alexander Library and Reading Room will be closed this week (1-5 February) for COVID-19 safety measures.

Shutdown

From 6pm today the State Records Office located in the State Library of WA will be closed to the public in the interests of public safety. While we understand this temporary shutdown may inconvenience some, our best medical advice is that this is a necessary step to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The SRO is still contactable via email at sro@sro.wa.gov.au and through our on-line services. The SRO will continue to receive and respond to enquiries and requests for assistance.

Please note that while requests for digitisation of State archives will still be processed, there may be delays, and requests to view archives in person in the 3rd floor Reading Room will not be able to be fulfilled until it is re-opened.
