The Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration’s Title Compliance Branch has launched an online complaint form which will simplify the process of reporting illegal prospecting and suspected unauthorised mining activities across WA.
Available to industry and the general public, the form is intended to streamline the process for the Investigations Team. Complaints have historically arrived through a variety of channels and can lack a significant amount of necessary detail. With many complaints coming from rural areas, the time required to gather additional information needed can be significant. The complaints form outlines the details required to assist the department in investigating the matter further.
The complaint form is available to download from the DMPE website. Once the form has been completed and submitted, the information will be forwarded to the Investigations Team for review and potential investigation.
The form is a simple way for industry and the public to report matters to the department at any time, without the need to speak to an investigator in person.
