Energy Policy WA has published a Consultation Paper seeking feedback on the outcomes of Stage One of the Supplementary Reserve Capacity (SRC) provisions review.

The Coordinator of Energy is undertaking a review of the SRC provisions of section 4.24 of the Wholesale Electricity Market Rules (WEM Rules).

Clause 4.24.19 of the WEM Rules requires that after each call for tenders for supplementary capacity or otherwise acquiring Eligible Services the Coordinator of Energy must review the SRC provisions, and undertake a public consultation process on the outcomes of the review. On 23 September 2022, AEMO published a call for tenders from potential SRC providers.

This Consultation Paper sets out the outcomes of Stage 1 of the SRC Review.

Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the proposals in the Consultation Paper before 5:00pm (WST), 21 March 2023 by submitting comments to energymarkets@dmirs.wa.gov.au.

A copy of the Consultation Paper can be found on the Supplementary Reserve Capacity Review Page.
