State Training Board welcomes new Chair

Skills and TAFE Minister Amber‑Jade Sanderson has announced the appointment of Stephen Moir as the new Chair of the State Training Board (STB).

Mr Moir has been a member of the State Training Board since 2019 and brings extensive leadership experience across Western Australia’s automotive, small business and training sectors. He was the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Motor Trade Association of Western Australia (MTA WA), where he led major workforce, training and industry development initiatives for more than a decade. His previous roles include Managing Director of the Small Business Development Corporation.

The Minister thanked retiring Chair Jim Walker for his service to the Board since 2014, acknowledging his strong contribution to industry engagement, apprenticeships and traineeships, and strategic workforce planning.

The Minister also welcomed Brooke Fowles to the Board. Ms Fowles is Director, Strategy and Governance at the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia and brings experience across strategy, policy and organisational reform across essential services and the public sector.

Board members Lena Constantine and Debra Zanella have been reappointed for a further term ending 31 December 2028.
