The Department of Energy and Economic Diversification (DEED) is proud to announce the recipients of our STEM Engagement Sponsorship program.
Nine projects will share in $168,000 in funding to promote STEM as a fulfilling career pathway as well as build STEM skills and culture in Western Australia (WA).
Our recipients come from a wide range of not-for-profits, membership organisations and universities that will deliver initiatives across the State including throughout the Pilbara, Kimberly, Kalgoorlie and Perth.
The successful initiatives include career events, remote outreach programs, micro-credential courses for teachers, and mentoring opportunities for women and girls in STEM.
Congratulations to the 2026 recipients:

In line with the WA Government’s mission update, Future state, future skills: Accelerating STEM skills for Western Australia, the program aims to:
- support initiatives that showcase emerging STEM career opportunities;
- strengthen connections between industry and education providers; and
- increase participation of currently under-represented groups in STEM, such as females, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people from low socio-economic areas and/or regional or remote areas.
