Judges will be visiting more than 45 communities over the coming weeks to learn more about the projects and initiatives entered into this year's Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities awards.
First cab off the rank was the Shire of Trayning with its four small communities, where judges had the opportunity to see the projects firsthand and meet the people behind them.
Finalists in ten categories will be announced in October and finalist community members will be invited to attend the State Awards event at Optus Stadium on 27 November, where this year's winners will be revealed.
