Traffic Crash - West Coast Highway North Beach

Road Policing Group North officers are investigating a traffic crash that occurred in North Beach on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

About 11.15am, police received reports of a collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian on West Coast Drive near Malcolm Street.

Emergency services attended and located a white Ford Ranger utility that had lost control, and collided with a blue Holden Frontera station wagon, before mounting the footpath and struck a man aged in his 60s, pushing him over a limestone retaining wall into bushes. The driver of the Holden was not injured. 

The impact caused significant damage to the wall and a light pole, which fell onto the footpath before the utility came to a stop in the southbound lane.

The pedestrian was conveyed by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford, a man aged in his 40s, is currently assisting police with inquiries.

Investigators are seeking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam vision of the vehicle travelling in the area prior to the collision, to come forward.
