Update to the WA Domestic Gas Statement

The WA Domestic Gas Statement has been updated in 2025 and is now available.

In September 2024, the Western Australian (WA) Government released the WA Domestic Gas Statement, to increase transparency in the WA domestic gas market. 

The document provided information on:  

• each operating domestic gas project;
• LNG exporters compliance with the WA Domestic Gas Policy; and
• expected domestic gas supply for the WA market by project over a three-year period    

The WA Government has now published an updated Statement, which provides further transparency, through the inclusion of additional information. 

• expected domestic gas supply for the WA market by proponent; and
• expected domestic gas supply for the WA market over a rolling five-year period  

The inclusion of additional information such as demand data from major gas users will be considered in future iterations of the Statement.   

The WA Government is committed to continuing to increase market transparency in the WA domestic gas market, which is critical to support an efficient functioning gas market and effective operation of the WA Domestic Gas Policy.
