The WA Police Force has upgraded its Community Protection Website (CPW), improving public access to information about reportable offenders and supporting community safety across Western Australia.
Originally launched on Monday 15 October 2012, the CPW supports the objectives of the Community Protection (Offender Reporting) Act 2004.
The 2026 upgrades improve the usability and accessibility of the site, enabling members of the public to access reliable information more easily and efficiently.
Protecting children is a core priority for the WA Police Force. The modernised website supports community awareness by providing appropriate access to information about certain reportable offenders, with a strong focus on safeguarding children and vulnerable people.
The CPW enables the community to view photographs of missing convicted child sex offenders who reside in the community and are subject to reporting obligations. While most reportable offenders comply with these obligations, some may fail to do so. Where a reportable offender cannot be located by police, their photograph and personal details may be published on the website to assist in locating them and to enhance public awareness.
The website also allows users to conduct a local search. Only photographs of offenders approved for publication and residing within the user's selected locality will be displayed.
Offenders whose photographs may be published on the website include:
• Certain convicted child sex offenders classified as serious repeat reportable offenders.
• High-risk serious offenders subject to supervision orders.
• Offenders authorised by the Minister for Police.
Access to this information is provided to support informed community awareness and safety.
In addition, parents and guardians may apply under the Community Protection Disclosure Scheme to be informed whether a specified person, who has reportable contact with their child, is a reportable offender. Disclosures are made at the discretion of the Commissioner of Police. No disclosure can be made about a reportable offender who is under the age of 18 years.
This scheme provides parents and guardians with information to assist them in taking appropriate steps to safeguard their children where necessary.

The upgraded Community Protection Website provides a more accessible and user-friendly way for the community to access information that supports informed awareness and helps keep our communities safe."
The WA Police Force reminds the community that information provided through the CPW must be used responsibly and only for the purpose of promoting safety and awareness. Harassment, vigilantism and threats against an identified reportable offender are never acceptable and may result in criminal proceedings. Anyone who misuses information from this website may face up to 10 years’ imprisonment.
