Today the Department of the Premier and Cabinet officially welcomes Michael Carey as Director General.
With more than two decades of leadership experience, Michael brings a wealth of knowledge in public policy and program reform, driving economic and social results. In his most recent role as Under Treasurer of Queensland, he was the State’s principal fiscal and economic adviser – delivering State budgets and offering policy advice and strategic guidance to the Treasurer and Cabinet.
It is a privilege to have Michael on board and guide the Department into an exciting new chapter.
We also extend our thanks and farewell to Acting Director General, Richard Sellers, for his guidance and support over the past five months. His contributions during this time have been greatly appreciated and have made a meaningful impact. In addition, we acknowledge and thank Richard for his long-standing legacy and dedicated service with the WA public sector.
As Richard steps into this new chapter, we wish him all the very best for a well-deserved and fulfilling retirement.
