‘Connection’ was the word of the week as we welcomed one of the largest group of Solid Futures trainees to the sector.
Things kicked off with a 3 day induction where they got to know one another and what to expect over the next 12 months, and learned about how the public sector works.
They also met mentors from our Aboriginal Employment Team and their workplace supervisors.
A highlight was hearing from recent Solid Futures graduates for the inside scoop on what it’s like to reach the end of the program and take that next step.
Now trainees are joining their agencies around WA, getting to know their teams and what they do, and starting the Certificate III in Government.
Solid Futures is an awesome opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to join the WA public sector and get the skills and tools to become future leaders.
