Williams has been named the 2025 State Winner for Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities, a well-earned recognition of its achievements in sustainability, wellbeing and civic pride.

Williams sets a high standard for a clean, welcoming, and sustainable town. Public spaces are beautifully maintained with solar lighting, recycled signage, and waterwise planting, supported by community clean-ups and beautification projects.

The Williams Community Resource Centre (CRC) fosters social connection through inclusive programs like Teens Club, Rhyme Time, and the Evolve Festival, promoting mental health and intergenerational learning.

Environmental sustainability shines through bushwalks, tree planting, and riverbank restoration by the Williams Environmental Group. Programs like the Echidna Trail and Wildlife Warriors engage children in hands-on conservation.

Waste management initiatives include the Bush Brothers Op Shop, Tip Shop, and Containers for Change, alongside the Williams River Cleanup.

Cultural heritage is celebrated during NAIDOC Week, with Aboriginal Elders sharing stories and traditions. Youth play a vital role through volunteering, environmental projects, and campaigns like SOCK road safety.

The Williams Woolshed is a tourism hub that supports local businesses and community fundraising, reinforcing the town’s identity and values.

Congratulations again, Williams!
