The WA Government is pleased to congratulate Elk Fish Robotics, Cumulus Projects and Compliance Monitoring, as the inaugural winners of the 2021 GenerateER Open Innovation Challenge.

Launched in June 2021, Chevron set the first round of challenges and the WA based winners will work with Chevron to produce their solutions.

  • Elk Fish Robotics and Cumulus Projects - to design a drone that is able to fly into hazardous areas to investigate abnormal situations through on-board sensors.
  • Compliance Monitoring - to design an automated, remotely monitored sensing and data tracking solution for use on Barrow Island.

GenerateER is a priority initiative of the LNG Jobs Taskforce, and provides Australian-based businesses with the opportunity to offer and showcase innovative solutions to real industry challenges. The Government is proud to continue its partnership with NERA and industry in delivering this collaborative program.

Expressions of Interest are now open for the next challenge, hosted by Shell. Shell's challenge, 'Circular Economy Solutions - Rethinking Plastic', is focussed on finding solutions to reduce and recycle plastic across their operations, providing the winner (or winners) the opportunity to have their solution employed across Shell's WA, Queensland and the Northern Territory operations.
