Residents, families, community groups, and local volunteers are invited to roll up their sleeves and join the clean-up on Saturday 1 August, meeting at 8.30am at the Wongan Hills Community Resource Centre, followed by a well-deserved community morning tea.
Hosted in partnership with Wongan Hills Tidy Towns and the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, the event celebrates the spirit of community pride that sits at the heart of the Tidy Towns Sustainable Communities movement.
The clean-up will focus on road entrances and key community areas around Wongan Hills, helping to maintain the town's welcoming appearance while protecting the local environment. Whether participants can spare 30 minutes or a few hours, every contribution will help make a positive difference.
Keep Australia Beautiful Week is all about empowering people to take pride in the places where they live, work and play. We are delighted to be launching this year's campaign in Wongan Hills alongside a community that has long demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, volunteerism and civic pride.
The event is open to all ages, with children welcome under adult supervision. Participants are encouraged to wear:
- Closed-in shoes
- A hat
- Long sleeves and long pants
Hi-vis vests will be available if required, and safety remains a priority throughout the morning.
The BIG Community Clean Up provides a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, connect with neighbours and contribute to a cleaner, more attractive community.
