Proposed electricity licence exemptions for the co-location of storage and generating works

Energy Policy WA invited feedback on a proposal to extend the current distribution and transmission licence exemption for licensed generators to situations where the licence generating works are co-located with storage works.

The proposal is intended to help support the adoption of low-emissions electricity supplies in the South West Interconnected System (SWIS). 

The public consultation period closed on Friday 12 April 2024. Energy Policy WA is currently reviewing the submissions received.
