A Renewable Hydrogen Target for Western Australia

Energy Policy WA and the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, are currently developing options for a Renewable Hydrogen Target.

On 6 December 2022, the Western Australian Government announced that it would progress to the detailed design phase for the Renewable Hydrogen Target, including work by Energy Policy WA on an electricity generation scheme, and work by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation on a broader scheme encompassing multiple end uses.

Renewable Hydrogen Target Consultation Paper

In October 2022, Energy Policy WA published a consultation paper seeking feedback on the design of a Renewable Hydrogen Target for electricity generation in the SWIS. 

The consultation paper presented a summary of options for this design. Stakeholders were invited to provide feedback by 5pm (WST) Thursday 10 November 2022.

Renewable Hydrogen Target Forum

Energy Policy WA held a forum on 25 October 2022, to provide an overview of the consultation paper and answer questions.
