Agriculture and Food Minister Terry Redman today congratulated three inductees into the Agricultural Hall of Fame.

Former agriculture minister Hon. Ernie Bridge OAM, former Wesfarmers chief executive officer John Bennison AM OBE and researcher, the late Professor Laurence Hartley Teakle CMG, were announced by the Royal Agricultural Society of Western Australia as the latest additions to its prestigious Hall of Fame.

Mr Redman said the induction of the three men into the Hall of Fame was fitting recognition of their outstanding accomplishments and contribution to rural and regional WA.

"Mr Bridge served in both local government and State politics, with strong involvement in agriculture, water resources and Aboriginal affairs," he said.

"Mr Bennison played an important role in the sector through his position with Wesfarmers and Professor Teakle made a significant contribution to the State's farming sector through his extensive soil research work.

"The Agricultural Hall of Fame, established 12 years ago, is a worthy way to honour the State's agricultural leaders and is certainly a source of inspiring industry leaders."
