Broome North house and land packages to deliver more choice

As part of the State Government's commitment to increase housing choice in the Kimberley, Landcorp will tomorrow (Friday, May 6) release 50 house and land packages at the exciting new Broome North development, Waranyjarri Estate.

As part of the State Government's commitment to increase housing choice in the Kimberley, Landcorp will tomorrow (Friday, May 6) release 50 house and land packages at the exciting new Broome North development, Waranyjarri Estate.

Lands Minister Brendon Grylls said with house and land packages starting at $419,314, there was a great opportunity for first home owners to enter Broome's property market.

"The 50 house and land packages will be offered by private treaty and will provide a staggering array of housing styles and choices never before offered in the Kimberley," Mr Grylls said.

"In addition, purchasers will be able to claim a combined rebate of up to $32,470 made up of the Federal Government's Housing Affordability Fund, the First Homeowners Grant and a landscaping rebate from Landcorp."

A group of eight builders have been selected - Brolga Developments, Colin Wilkinson Developments, Australian Eco Construction, William Homes, H&M Tracey, Niche Q, BGC Modular and Summit Homes.

"These builders were chosen based on their house designs being responsive to the Broome climate, the quality of the building design and value for money," the Minister said.

Mr Grylls said there were also opportunities for people to build on their own land with an additional 38 lots remaining from the first land release late last year.

The 38 single lots, ranging in size from 423sqm to 814sqm, are priced from $130,000. Rebates of up to $32,470 are also available on the lots.

"There is an expectation this second land release will generate a lot of interest from investors who are looking to enter the rental market," the Minister said.

"The combined house and land packages and lots will be available to all potential purchasers and will provide more choice for owner occupiers and investors wanting to enter the highly regarded Broome market."

Mr Grylls said the progress of Waranyjarri Estate clearly demonstrated the State Government was delivering on its promise to meet demand for land in the Kimberley.

He said the ability for site works by civil construction firm Ertech to continue during the wet season allowed the second land release to be delivered within a reduced timeframe.
