Builder appointed to expand Mandurah Community Health Centre
Site works commence soon on a $3.4million extension to the Mandurah Community Health Centre with the appointment of a builder for the project.
Health Minister Dr Kim Hames today announced that Niche Constructions had won the tender to expand the existing centre.
"The builder has taken possession of the site and is currently undertaking offsite preparatory work," Dr Hames said.
"It is anticipated that site works will begin in April."
The Minister said the expansion of the centre would see community health services offered to people in the one location.
Once completed, the centre would offer a range of community health services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, school and child health nursing, speech therapy and immunisation services.
A new Aboriginal Health Centre would be established at the site, including a primary health care service. The Patient Assisted Travel Scheme would be relocated to the current community health centre site along with the Family and Child Health Service.
Existing community health services would continue to be available to local residents during the expansion process.
