Chinese dignitary visits WA
His Excellency Mr Zhou Yongkang is scheduled to arrive in Perth tomorrow for a two-day visit before continuing to Sydney and Canberra where he will meet Federal Government members.
Mr Zhou is a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee of the People's Republic of China.
He will be accompanied by a delegation of 51, including six Chinese media representatives, who are covering the tour. Mr Zhou will be welcomed to Australia by Foreign Affairs Minister Stephen Smith, representing the Prime Minister and Western Australian Mines and Petroleum Minister Norman Moore, representing the Premier.
While in Perth, Mr Zhou will hold meetings with Premier Colin Barnett and the Foreign Affairs Minister. He will be the guest of the Minister and the Premier at a luncheon on Wednesday.
Mr Zhou will also visit some of Perth's natural attractions during his stay as well as attending a private dinner hosted by the People's Republic of China Consul General in WA, Mr Li Shugang.
