App helps women and supports friends and family at risk of assault and domestic violence
A new safety app to help women at risk of sexual assault and domestic violence has been launched today.
Child Protection Minister Helen Morton commended the initiative which is expected to help reduce violence against women and their children.
"The app - Daisy - brings together support services in all Australian States and Territories, so no matter where you are it provides easy access to a wide range of services," Mrs Morton said.
"Daisy provides tips on how to stay safe when using technology, and information to help friends or family connect to services.
"Violence is unacceptable and Western Australian women and their children have every right to live free from violence in safe communities.
"Tools such as this app can help us all work together to reduce violence against women and their children, connect with support services and stop the vicious cycle."
Daisy was created by national organisation, 1800RESPECT, with advisory group input from the State Government through representation from the Department for Child Protection and Family Support.
