Developer gets set to transform Perry Lakes

Planning Minister John Day today announced TRG Properties Pty Ltd as the preferred proponent to deliver a range of new housing options at the Perry Lakes residential estate.

Mr Day said TRG Properties Pty Ltd would work with the State Government through LandCorp to develop two apartment sites along with grouped and terraced housing.

"The residential project by LandCorp is transforming this historic site into an attractive modern estate with great appeal for a broad demographic and delivers on key initiatives of the State's Direction's 2031 and Beyond strategy to address urban sprawl," he said.

"Perry Lakes is an excellent example of how an attractive, modern estate can be built while respecting the history of the former home of the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games.

"The estate's design reflects a contemporary approach to the style of the Commonwealth Games-era and specific housing design guidelines have been developed to cater for contemporary, sustainable homes."

TRG Properties Pty Ltd is a successful Western Australian property development company with a track record of delivering quality residential developments including Government projects in Joondalup and Bunbury and an apartment project in East Perth.

The company will work with LandCorp to develop up to 150 residences located in two distinct precincts within the project site. The Apartment Precinct has an architectural style representing the historic public structures of the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games and the Track and Field Precinct was inspired by the stadium's original running track to create terrace style housing on smaller lots.
