Development-ready land to drive economic growth
- More than $280 million worth of development-ready land to stimulate investment
- Investment opportunities in residential, commercial and industrial development
More than $280 million worth of development-ready land in metropolitan Perth and regional Western Australia was unveiled tonight as part of an event hosted by Lands Minister Terry Redman.
Showcasing the more than 160 residential, commercial and industrial lots for development by LandCorp, Mr Redman said the diverse range of lots being offered to the market would spur private sector investment.
"These projects offer quality investment and development opportunities which will help drive economic growth, and provide a boost for the development industry in Perth and in the regions," he said.
A selection of lots for commercial use and light and heavy industries are available in several of LandCorp's industrial estates.
"The State Government supplies about 25 per cent of all vacant industrial land and LandCorp industrial estates accommodate some 2,700 businesses that employ 67,000 people," the Minister said.
"The development of existing and new estates will see the creation of lots which could ultimately accommodate a further 2,000 businesses. Industrial estates are the engine rooms of economic growth."
Through LandCorp, the Liberal National Government is also transforming land for first home buyers.
A new incentive for businesses to invest in LandCorp's industrial estates is also underway, with LandCorp offering to pay up to $100,000 for stamp duty for industrial lots to encourage businesses to expand or relocate.
The offer applies to the first 10 lots purchased from participating regional and metropolitan estates that settle within 90 days, and is available until early December.
Regional Western Australia will also receive a significant economic boost from a diverse range of lots offering new commercial and residential opportunities.
"The State Government is seeking expressions of interest from developers for a hotel to be built at the landmark Middleton Beach development in Albany, and in the heart of the redeveloped Karratha town site," Mr Redman said.
"There is also the opportunity to invest in commercial opportunities in Broome and South Hedland, and new residential releases at Geraldton's Batavia Coast Marina and Bunbury Waterfront."
