Four job services will be available under one roof from today as part of the State Government's commitment to help people access the jobs or skills required for employment in Western Australia.
Training and Workforce Development Minister Liza Harvey said the new job centre in Forrest Place, Perth, now houses the Perth Aboriginal Workforce Development Centre, Career Centre, Education and Training International and Migration Services.
"The centre brings together four branches previously spread over three different sites to one location in the heart of the city at Forrest Place," Mrs Harvey said.
"It provides a central location to access several of the Department of Training and Workforce Development's services. Job seekers, skilled migrants or school leavers who want career guidance or information about training opportunities will find it here."
The Minister said the opening marked the start of a new integrated approach to serving the needs of Western Australian job seekers.
"The new centre provides an important link for people to access the necessary training to either enter the workforce, upskill or transition to a new career path," she said.
"There are thousands of courses to choose from and more than 600 heavily subsidised priority courses available. Choosing the right qualification will help West Australians get the skills they need to become part of the industries driving the economy and enjoy a rewarding career."
The Liberal National Government is committed to improving training and workforce opportunities to align with priority industries in WA, ensuring job seekers and trainees will enjoy longevity in their chosen career path.
