Enjoy an extraordinary experience in WA this Easter
West Australians are encouraged to get out and explore their own backyard over this year's bumper five-day Easter/Anzac Day break using Tourism WA's revamped events website.
Tourism Minister Kim Hames said the newly-upgraded website was set to become a one-stop shop to find out what was going on right across the State.
"This site has been bolstered just in time for this extra-long weekend and there are things to do and see right across WA," Dr Hames said.
"This complements Tourism WA's existing website which has recommended day-trip and short break itineraries for all regions of WA. This really is the perfect opportunity to get out and experience our own backyard."
The Minister said event organisers could also register events on the website for free, which would give their event exposure to 150,000 site visitors each month. The site can be found at http://www.westernaustralia.com/au/Things_to_See_and_Do/Events/Pages/events.aspx
Dr Hames said while the site did not include all WA's events yet, it would soon offer a comprehensive list of things happening across the State. New events were being added daily and a campaign to encourage registrations was under way.
The Minister said some examples of events on during Easter included a Stations of the Cross art exhibition at the Wesley Uniting Church in Perth; the AC/DC 'Family Jewels' exhibition at the WA Museum; and a Pinnacles Dinner Tour to celebrate Good Friday.
Details and opening hours could be found on the site.
"Whether you're after an outback adventure, a relaxing time by the beach, a gourmet tour filled with fine food and wine, or an action-packed schedule of water sports and thrill seeking, WA offers extraordinary experiences for everyone," Dr Hames said.
"The website will become the place to go to find out what's happening in WA. It is easy to
use - people can search for events by town, by region, by type or by date."
To register your event, visit and follow the instructions.
Events must be relevant to the leisure tourism market and inclusion of your event depends on criteria such as the level of community participation and economic impact.
