Great value industrial land now available

Prime regional Western Australian industrial land at LandCorp's Avon Industrial Park (AIP), near Northam, has been released to the market, priced at about $15 per square metre.

Lands Minister Brendon Grylls said LandCorp, in partnership with the Avon Community Development Foundation and the Wheatbelt Development Commission, had released seven lots in Stage 2A of the industrial park.

"With an average size of just over two hectares and individual parcels ranging in size from 5,500sqm to 3.2867ha and starting at $138,000, the seven lots in Stage 2A have been developed for companies seeking larger and very affordable tracts of land which are extremely scarce in the metropolitan area," Mr Grylls said.

The AIP is located 18km east of Northam and adjacent to Great Eastern Highway and the Transcontinental Railway, linking Perth with the Wheatbelt, Goldfields, Mid-West and northern regions, as well as Adelaide and the east coast.

"This development is a great alternative for Eastern States companies looking to take advantage of WA's booming resources sector and one of the nation's export leaders but which may have had difficulty finding larger sites in or around Perth," the Minister said.

The latest release follows the success of Stage One, which sold out in 2007.

"Downstream suppliers such as fabricators, machinery servicing businesses and logistics companies with operations in WA will be well positioned within the AIP," Mr Grylls said.

"Once completed, the park will act as a catalyst for greater investment in the region and is expected to create about 2,000 direct and 3,000 indirect jobs in the local community.

"The location also means that businesses can enjoy good proximity to Perth while enjoying a rural lifestyle with a range of educational, recreational, environmental and lifestyle benefits."

The lots are available for purchase now by private treaty.
