Heath Ledger does WA proud

Premier Colin Barnett expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the Ledger family as they accepted a posthumous Academy Award on behalf of their beloved son and brother, Heath Ledger.

"Heath was a great talent and I am delighted his contribution to the entertainment industry has been recognised at such a high level," Mr Barnett said.

"I hope this recognition goes some way to providing the Ledger family with the comfort they need to move forward with their lives in what has no doubt been an incredibly difficult period.

"The State is immensely proud of Heath's achievements and I hope his ambition and determination to succeed will inspire other young Western Australians to follow their dreams."
