Hottest names in tennis arrive for Hopman Cup
- Top international line-up for this year's event
Families encouraged to take advantage of $10 kids' tickets
Proudly supported by State Government through Tourism WA
Sponsorship option secures Hopman Cup for WA until 2022
Some of the biggest and best names in world tennis have arrived in Perth ahead of Hopman Cup 2015, and this year families are encouraged to bring along the kids.
Tourism Minister Kim Hames applauded the Hopman Cup's organisers for introducing $10 tickets for children and making the event more affordable for families.
"The Hopman Cup has been a major drawcard for tennis fans for nearly three decades and a key event on Western Australia's sporting calendar," Dr Hames said.
"With children's tickets now $10 across every session, including the final, this is a great way to make it easier for families to enjoy the international tennis action."
The Minister said the field for this year's event was one of the best in the tournament's 27-year history.
"It's a testament to the popularity of the event that the Hopman Cup can draw big international names like Serena Williams and Andy Murray to Perth," he said.
"And people want to see Aussie talent like Casey Dellacqua do well, so this year's Hopman Cup promises to be one of the most successful."
Dr Hames said the State Government was a proud founding sponsor of the Hopman Cup and earlier this year had signed a new three-year sponsorship deal for WA's international tennis tournament.
"The deal includes an option for a further five years, securing the event for Western Australia until 2022," he said.
The Minister said events such as the Hopman Cup played an important role in the State Government's strategy to increase the value of tourism to $12 billion by 2020.
