LandCorp house and land packages a first in the Pilbara
The first house and land packages to be released in Karratha are on sale.
Lands Minister Brendon Grylls said homebuyers had been given more choice with land and building options available at LandCorp's Baynton West residential estate.
"Thirty house and land packages have just been released, featuring designs by building companies with homes in LandCorp's display village at Nickol West," Mr Grylls said.
"I'm pleased to announce that house and land packages will be available from $500,000, providing the best value seen for some time in Karratha.
"Homebuyers can walk through the display homes and get a feel for the styles, materials and designs on offer for people building in Karratha."
Thirty lots are available for the house and land packages, available through TR Homes and McGrath Homes. These range from 315sqm to 591sqm.
The Minister said sales of homesites at Baynton West in January and March to local business operators for staff housing, first homebuyers and owner-occupiers had been well received, and the market was showing signs of returning to normal.
"My priority is to ensure that people in Karratha can buy reasonably-priced land under normal market conditions, and LandCorp will continue to release land to enable that to occur," he said.
Civil works are already under way on another 40 lots in the next stage of the development to be released in the next few months.
When fully developed, Baynton West will become an attractive new suburb with broad appeal supporting more than a 1,000 new homes and offering parks, recreational facilities and a school.
