The 270-page independent review of the Liquor Control Act 1988 has been finalised and formally presented to the State Government for consideration and response.

A range of stakeholders, industry groups and the public made 149 submissions during the review period and the final document contains 141 recommendations.

Chair of the review committee, John Atkins, formally presented the group's findings to Racing and Gaming Minister Terry Waldron today.

Mr Waldron said the next step would be to read the review in detail before meeting with key stakeholders and forming a response.

"This is now a public document and key stakeholders will be given a chance to read and absorb the findings, prior to me arranging meetings to hear their views," the Minister said.

"Once this process is complete, I will discuss the findings with my Cabinet colleagues and we will determine a formal response.

"I want to thank Mr Atkins and committee members, Nicole Roocke and Ian Stanley, who have done a fantastic job.

"This was a challenging review with quite wide terms of reference and I look forward to reading it in full and determining the best way forward."
