Mandurah Crab Festival promises to be biggest ever
Up to 90,000 people are expected to flock to Mandurah's foreshore this weekend for the city's annual crab festival.
The 13th Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest promises to be one of the best in the event's history with four stages featuring live music acts, cooking demonstrations and children's entertainers.
A first at this year's festival is the Mandurah Action Sports Games, which will see more than 60 extreme sports stars competing for $20,000 prize money in wake boarding, freestyle motocross, skate boarding and BMX riding.
Tourism Minister and Dawesville MLA Kim Hames said Eventscorp was a proud sponsor of the 2011 Crab Fest through Eventscorp's Regional Events Scheme.
"The scheme supports new and established regional events that showcase Western Australia as a vibrant tourism destination," Dr Hames said.
"The Mandurah Crab Fest epitomises what the Regional Events Scheme is all about - supporting good local events that attract visitors to regional areas."
The Minister said people catching the train from Perth to the festival could take advantage of a free shuttle bus service.
"The free bus service operates every 15 minutes from the Mandurah train station to the foreshore," he said.
The shuttle bus runs from 10am to 10pm on Saturday and from 10am to 7pm on Sunday.
