Mandurah Junction land release offers plenty of options
Lands Minister Terry Redman today announced the release of the second stage of Mandurah Junction, a 15ha site which would bring more housing and retail opportunities adjacent to the Mandurah train and bus station.
Mr Redman said the release would include 26 single residential lots, an apartment site and a mixed-use development site.
Strong demand is anticipated following the sell-out first stage of the development mid last year.
"Mandurah Junction is among the first of the Activity Centres to be delivered under the State Government's Directions 2031 and Beyond initiative, which aims to address predicted population growth and promote jobs, connectivity, community and environmental benefits," the Minister said.
"LandCorp's development of Mandurah Junction is in line with the State Affordable Housing Strategy which aims to deliver housing appropriately priced for households on low to moderate incomes, including low cost house and land packages.
"This development is a great opportunity for first home buyers to buy into the type of quality estate they may have thought was beyond their reach."
Most houses in the sold-out Stage 1 release are now built, and the community has access to the estate's landscaped parks, gardens, playgrounds and picnic/barbecue facilities.
Mandurah Junction is being transformed into a high quality residential estate for up to 2,000 people with 9,500sqm of retail and commercial space.
Civil works for Stage 2 are scheduled to begin in May 2014. Interested buyers can find further information at http://www.landcorp.com.au/mandurahjunction.
