Minister's response:

"I am fully behind any plan that can recoup public money which is spent because of the actions of criminals. I have no formal advice on this issue yet, but in my book anyone who attacks a police officer carrying out their lawful duty should be made to pay for any medical costs incurred - not the WA taxpayers and not hard-working police officers."
