New board members appointed to Synergy
Three new members added to complete Synergy board
Energy Minister Mike Nahan today welcomed the appointment of three new members to the Synergy board, effective immediately.
Ms Michele Dolin, Mr Kim Horne and Ms Samantha Tough join Mr David Hunt,
Mr Mark Chatfield and Mr Michael Goddard as directors to complete the Synergy board, following the appointment of Lyndon Rowe as chairman earlier this year.
Dr Nahan said the three new members are great appointments and provide a balance of expertise and a wealth of commercial experience from several aspects of the industry, locally and internationally.
"Interest from suitably qualified candidates to join the Synergy board was very strong and allowed us to select three outstanding candidates with outstanding track records and comprehensive experience," he said.
"Synergy's board is now in a position to take the business forward and embrace the current challenges in the market and wider industry."
Ms Dolin is a Certified Practicing Accountant, a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a Master of Arts and a Master of Business Administration. She is a former CEO and CFO of GESB and Peet Ltd respectively and has also held a number of directorships in Western Australia, including Curtin University and the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia.
Mr Horne holds extensive experience in the minerals industry, working in a number of high level roles at Alcoa, in the areas of human resources, corporate affairs, strategy and government relations. He has a degree in accounting and microeconomics, is a graduate of the UWA Management Education Program and was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in January 2014 for his services to the mining industry.
Ms Tough holds a number of directorships in a diverse range of industries including CBH, Saracen Mineral Holdings, Strike Resources and the WA Academy of Performing Arts. She has extensive experience in the mining, resources and energy industries, holding key positions in Woodside Energy, including the North West Shelf Project. Ms Tough has a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Jurisprudence from UWA and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
