New members appointed to Peel Development Commission board

Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls has announced six new appointments to the Peel Development Commission board.
Geoff Totterdell, a retired administrator and accountant has been appointed chairman and Mike Ryan, a past general manager with Optus, will be deputy chairman.
Mr Totterdell has extensive experience working within government and a history of significant appointments including terms as chairman on the Swan River Trust, Dairy Western Australia Ltd and the Rottnest Conservation Foundation.
Mr Ryan has had many years working in senior management and is also a member of several boards, including Racing and Wagering WA.
Also appointed to the board are Mark Jeffery, Elizabeth Hoek, and representing Peel's five local governments are Cr Rhys Williams and Cr Walter Barrett.
"Peel Development Commission plays a critical role in co-ordinating and leading the development of this dynamic region," Mr Grylls said.
"The existing and new board members bring an exciting mix of youth, experience and expertise across all areas, as well as a demonstrated commitment to the growth of the Peel region. I am confident that under Mr Totterdell's leadership the commission will accomplish much."
In announcing the appointments, the Minister also recognised the excellent contribution made to the board by retiring members Kim Horne, Cr Larry Scott, David Waddell, Ms Paddi Creevey, Professor Kateryna Longley and Cr Paul Carrotts.
"I would particularly like to thank Mr Horne for his commitment as chairman over the past two years. He played an essential role during his leadership of the commission's board and as a member of the Regional Development Council," Mr Grylls said.
