PRB chairman Robert Cock reappointed

Western Australia's Prisoners Review Board (PRB) and Mentally Impaired Accused Review Board (MIARB) chairman, His Honour Judge Robert Cock QC, has had his contract renewed until March 2018.

Western Australia's Prisoners Review Board (PRB) and Mentally Impaired Accused Review Board (MIARB) chairman, His Honour Judge Robert Cock QC, has had his contract renewed until March 2018.

Attorney General Michael Mischin said Judge Cock had showed commitment and professionalism in the challenging role since being appointed in March 2012.

"Judge Cock is an outstanding lawyer who has extensive experience in criminal and public law, as well as public administration," Mr Mischin said.

"Balancing the competing considerations of community safety and the views of victims and the community, against the need to facilitate offender rehabilitation, is a challenging task but one that Judge Cock has managed well.

"His decisions and advice to me have remained consistent over the past three years and I am confident in his ability to lead the PRB and MIARB for the next three years."
