Parenting seminars help raise resilient children
Free seminars in March for parents and carers about positive parenting
Parenting is the single most important influence on a child's health and wellbeing
Community Services Minister Tony Simpson has encouraged parents and carers to take advantage of free seminars and services offered by Parenting WA.
Tickets are now available for Parenting WA's two free seminars in Maylands and Rockingham on March 17 which will provide practical ways to raise resilient children.
The guest speaker is parenting expert Professor Matt Sanders who will discuss ways parents can help children recognise, express and accept their feelings and deal with challenges and stress. He is respected as an international leader in the parenting field and is the originator of the Positive Parenting Program (Triple P).
The seminars are being held at:
9am-11am at The Rise, 28 Eighth Avenue, Maylands
6.30pm-8.30pm at the Gary Holland Community Centre, 19 Kent Street, Rockingham.
The seminars, which in past years have attracted 250 parents and carers, are hosted by the Department of Local Government and Communities in conjunction this year with the Department of Health, Department of Education and the cities of Bayswater and Rockingham.
