Triple P Parenting expert offers tips for raising resilient children
Hundreds of parents are today taking advantage of free seminars offered by Parenting WA about how to raise resilient children.
The seminars in Maylands and Rockingham are hosted by parenting expert Matt Sanders who is sharing with parents some practical ways to help children recognise, express and accept their feelings and deal with stress.
Launching the Maylands seminar, Community Services Minister Tony Simpson said that as a parent he understood the difficulties and rewards that came with parenthood.
"Raising children is one of the most important and responsible roles a person can have. As parents we are constantly learning because the landscape of raising a child in our modern world is forever changing," Mr Simpson said.
The seminars are being held at:
9am-11am: The Rise, 28 Eighth Avenue, Maylands
6.30pm-8.30pm: Gary Holland Community Centre, 19 Kent Street, Rockingham.
"These free seminars affirm the State Government's commitment to supporting parents in their role in raising happy and healthy children," the Minister said.
