Peet to project manage Golden Bay

Housing Minister Troy Buswell today announced that Peet Limited has been awarded the tender to project manage the Department of Housing's Golden Bay development.

Housing Minister Troy Buswell today announced that Peet Limited has been awarded the tender to project manage the Department of Housing's Golden Bay development.

"There is strong demand for affordable housing in Western Australia and the main focus for this project is to get the maximum number of lots to market as quickly as possible," Mr Buswell said.

"There will be 1,750 lots in total available at the Golden Bay site, which is in close proximity to Rockingham and Mandurah.

"The lots in stage one will range in size from cottage lots of 225sqm to bigger blocks up to 900sqm, and I expect these to be on sale from April.

"The resulting mix of densities will allow for a range of housing options and help to create a vibrant and diverse community.

"Many of the lots will be priced within the reach of first homebuyers and low to middle income earners, allowing for more affordable housing options in the Peel region."

The development will include a site for a primary school, a new park and improved landscaping near Rhonda Scarrott Oval.

Peet Limited is a leading national property group that has been operating successfully in Australia for more than 115 years.

Today's announcement comes ahead of State Government Cabinet Ministers meeting in the Peel region on Monday, February 28.
