A crime thriller, a puppet show about Broome's staircase to the moon, and a number of contemporary musicians will tour the Gascoyne, Kimberley and Pilbara, as part of Boost.

Culture and Arts Minister John Day said Boost provided regional audiences with greater access to high quality arts and cultural programs.

"Boost provides performing art groups with the opportunity to take their shows on the road to capture the imagination of audiences in regional towns and communities," Mr Day said.

Theatre Kimberley Inc will tour Staircase to the Moon - a musical and puppet play for children, to the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions.

Perth-based Performing Lines will tour Side Pony Production's new interactive audio theatre piece The Confidence Man, a story of family betrayal, philandering and psychotic menace.

Tura New Music will take the collaborative performance, Reflection, with renowned Aboriginal performers William Barton and Stephen Pigram from Broome through the Kimberley and Pilbara.

Regional Development Minister Terry Redman said Boost gave regional communities access to more and diverse live performances, while developing local skills.

"The program also includes the development of a skills training package for regional staff and volunteers to assist them in hosting and creating touring performing arts shows," Mr Redman said.

"This is an exciting and challenging program and it shows how the State Government's Royalties for Regions program is helping to create vibrant and sustainable regional communities."
