Premier welcomes no pay rise for politicians
Premier Colin Barnett has welcomed the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal's decision to agree with the Liberal-National Government's stance that there be no pay rise for politicians this year.
"Western Australia is facing difficult economic times and Members of Parliament need to contribute to the solution, even if only in a small way relating to their pay," Mr Barnett said..
"Earlier this year the State Government made a submission to the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal asking it not to increase politicians pay this year.
"I am pleased that the tribunal shared the same view and there will be no pay rise."
