Rediscover Castle Rock on public holiday
- Free entry at Porongurup National Park Friday October 28
- Coincides with Queen's Birthday public holiday
Environment Minister Bill Marmion is encouraging families to enjoy the upcoming Friday public holiday at Porongurup National Park, free of charge.
The Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) is offering free park entry on Friday October 28 as part of the State Government's Rediscover Parks campaign.
Mr Marmion said the Free Park Day coincided with the Queen's Birthday public holiday.
"West Australians can take advantage of discovering one of the State's most well-known national parks, and explore the newly opened Castle Rock lookout," he said.
The new lookout and walking platforms were developed at a cost of $1.5million as part of the State Government's upgrade of park visitor facilities.
"I encourage park visitors to take time out to enjoy the exhilarating climb to the summit and magnificent views," Mr Marmion said.
