A group of 30 Western Australian sports fans who have played a unique role in helping to shape the new Perth Stadium will meet tonight for a final design workshop.

The Sports Fans User Group will be taking part in the last of four workshops to submit ideas for the design of the stadium.

Premier Colin Barnett and Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron will attend the final session to thank the fans for their contribution.

Mr Barnett said he was impressed with the creative ideas and practical suggestions that had flowed from the workshops during the last six weeks.

"This diverse and passionate group has played an important role in representing the views of all Western Australian sports fans in the design of the stadium.  They will be able to take special pride in the new Perth Stadium," he said.

"They've offered integral advice about everything from seating space to sight lines, transport and the development of the precinct.  The group's suggestions will be passed on to the consortia vying to build the stadium - it's important that they hear what they have to say and know what fans want."

The 30 fans were selected from more than 450 nominations across the community and represented a range of demographics.

Mr Waldron expressed his thanks and appreciation for the significant commitment and contribution made by the group.

"Our focus has always been to ensure the stadium has a fan first philosophy to allow us to deliver a world-class stadium," he said.

"I'm pleased the group has reaffirmed a number of ideas already captured within the Project Brief and has a made a range of other suggestions that will be considered."

Sports Fans User Group suggestions include the ability to walk around the entire stadium on one level while watching the game; access to a wide variety of food; the ability to see the giant screens from any seat with access to live data; and the ability for fans of rectangular sports like rugby to be closer to the sport.
