Some of the brightest stars of Australia's food industry, including Neil Perry, Guillaume Brahimi, Nino Zocalli, Alain Fabrègues and Anna Gare, will appear at next month's Mundaring Truffle Festival.

Tourism Minister Kim Hames said the festival had attracted an impressive line-up of chefs, a testament to the Western Australian truffle industry.

"WA produces more black truffles than the rest of the country combined and the annual Mundaring Truffle Festival celebrates this rare culinary delight," Dr Hames said.

"It is fantastic to see so many of Australia's leading chefs getting behind the event and supporting the local truffle industry."

The Minister said the Mundaring Truffle Festival was the brainchild of celebrated French chef Alain Fabrègues, who established the event in partnership with the Shire of Mundaring in 2007.

"Now in its sixth year, the festival has become one of the most anticipated culinary features of our State's diverse events calendar, attracting visitors from interstate and overseas," he said.

"This year, festival-goers can enjoy a range of truffle-themed activities including tastings, cooking classes and demonstrations, long table lunches, children's activities and truffle dog demonstrations."

Dr Hames said the State Government, through Eventscorp, was proud to support the festival.

"The Mundaring Truffle Festival not only attracts visitors to the Perth Hills region, it provides an important boost to the local economy," he said.
